I've been know to clip the cig lighter connector wire that comes with the LM-1 and put quick disconnects on it, and install the same type of quick disconnect connectors on the MS Harness so I can pull power and ground from the same source it pulls from, ensuring the MegaSquirt gets an accurate sensor reading. This is to prevent a voltage differential and will ensure accurate readings.

However, if you are routing an analog output from the LM-1 into the MegaSquirt you should ground the LM-1 and the MegaSquirt at the same point. If you are simply using the LCD display on the LM-1 to tune your car you have nothing different to do. Note that, unless you are running individual throttle bodies, the manifold allows fuel sprayed by one injector to be sucked into a different cylinder, so there will always be some cylinder to cylinder interaction. Sequential injection offers the possibility of improved emissions, especially at idle, and provides the opportunity to trim the mixture somewhat for each cylinder. Under these conditions, even sequential systems will be spraying against closed intake valves part of the time. At or near wide open throttle, the injectors are open a high percentage of the time, typically 80% or so. Therefore, if there is extra fuel sprayed into the manifold at one part of the cycle, it will get used up, as it isn't burned in the manifold and cannot escape.Ģ. Fuel that puddles will evaporate from the heat of the manifold and be carried into the cylinders. Some of the fuel will remain in suspension with the air in the manifold, while the rest will wet the walls of the manifold. The fuel sprayed against a closed valve will remain in the intake manifold until the valve opens.

In practice, you can get away with other combinations such as the first pair of injectors on one driver and the second pair on the other.įiring injectors in banks doesn't waste fuel for two reasons.ġ. In theory, it's best to wire the odd numbered injectors to one driver and the even numbered injectors to the other one when working on an inline engine. Megasquirt is not sequential, so often the best way to wire injectors is in such a way as to reduce pulses in the fuel rail. So, I cut the coil packs +12v from the main relay, spliced into the Pin 56 (IGN Crank and Run) and presto, car shuts off with the key I was paging thru wiring diagrams this morning as I sloooooowly woke up after a concert last night and saw that the coil packs get their power from pin 56 (ign turn on) at the ecu, NOT the main relay as some people had suggested. I was powering EVERYTHING from the main relay (LC-1, MS, Coils, Knock box). So I just woke up and was about to add a seperate relay for the coils to see if it was coil related or main relay related. All of the people I talked to (EE guys on ) thought that I was getting feedback from the alternator over the +12v line, but I noticed the car has an uncoupling diode over the charge indicator line by default, so adding a diode would be pointless. I had an issue with my car running with the key removed. But when hooked to mega squirt it came up with errors saying mega tune is closing down.This is a link to a custom assembly using GM coil packs.

plus the disc that came with this cable didnt load and files on the pc, i had to go into each fiile manualy and install every file. the install process directed me to some company in japan to download and update, which turned out to all be in japanese. couldnt get that to install on the laptop or any pc.

Used my mums laptop [ vista } with a usb to serial cable. As always reading other peoples success storys bout fitting this kit ect, makes it sound so simple but when ever i decided to follow this route i always have problems in getting this going, frustrating to say the least,ĭownloaded mega tune, 225, installed it, no probs there.
